“The essence of practising Yoga is to devote yourself to the universal flow”, says Kali Ray, the inventor of this graceful Yoga style which combines the traditional Yoga with a more modern apporach. “The life energy Prana needs freeedom to be able to flow, no matter which method you use. Only if the energy flows it has the power to cleanse, support and change a person”. |
Tri Yoga began in 1980. The name means the universal trinity: in every movement the three aspects Asana (Yoga position), Pranayama (breathing) and Mudra (hand gesture) are connected. The new thing about Tri Yoga is the characteristic wave motion flowing through the body while it goes from one position to the next. Prana Vidya, the knowledge of life energy, is also part of Tri Yoga. This combines the practising of Pranayama (breathing), Dharana (concentration) and Dhyana (meditation). |
(Hand-) Mudras are another aspect of Tri Yoga. Many of the energy channels in our body have their beginning or end in the hands. By practising Mudras this energy can be focused and channeled. The graceful movements are combined with breathing and certain positions which can be held. |
The flexibility of the spine improves through the soft, constant wave motion. Like everything in the universe our body is part of the constant rhythm of expanding and contracting. Here lies the reason for the positive effect this Yoga has on those accepting the dance of those opposed forces and therefore start to feel the “pulse of life”. |
Yoga gets it´s lightness from the “meditation in movement” and the “dancing of the energies”. By learning about the outside flow strength can be gained. At the same time our letting-go on the inside and flexibility are supported. By experiencing the outside flow, the inner flow is awakened. |
All exercises are practised gently and step-by-step by considering the individual situation. The precise adjustment of the body supports a correct posture. The exercises can be soft and therapeutic, but also challenging and demanding depending on individual condition and wishes. Precondition are the basic levels building up on each other. By learning one basic level you “flow” on to the next. In all levels the flow of energy and the well-being of the person is the centre point. |
